The 10 Pound Challenge, an annual event in which participants are challenged to lose some weight through undertaking a series of small lifestyle changes, is now easier to manage than ever before thanks to the release of a free iOS application.
You can download the new application free of charge, and it’s optimized for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad (and is busting with content). Because the official start date for the 10 Pound Challege is Jan. 11, there are already three days of advice, tips, and tricks for new users of the iOS app, called Ten Pound Challenge, to take advantage of. The first of these, for example, is Day One: Jacks. Here, folks participating in the challenge are given some information on an exercise (you guessed it: jacks), as well as tips and tricks on how to maintain a healthy diet.
While these are written down, users will find that information on exercises is presented in the form of in-app videos; these demo the day’s current exercise, which is a useful feature. Once the day’s challenge has been completed, you can also tick it off inside of the app, which helps to give users a sense of achievement on a day-by-day basis.
There’s an introductory video in Ten Pound Challenge, too, and this helps new users get accustomed to the premise behind the plan. Usefully, the software also allows iPhone and iPad owners to track their weigh-ins, and data from these can be presented graphically in order to make it easier to digest.
