Sing a Different Tune with the Release of VocaLive 3
Audio app and accessory developer IK Multimedia has officially announced the launch of VocaLive for iPhone and iPad version 3.0, which provides new functionality and improvements to previous features. To celebrate, we’ve teamed up with the “Musicians First” company to offer nearly a dozen of you, our singing enthusiast AppAdvice readers, a chance to have this wonderful package for free.
Whether for a live performance or part of a separate project, VocaLive is a top choice to enhance vocals. At the forefront, the app makes available a 4-processor chain, one better than before, and 12 professional quality audio effects. In addition to De-Esser, Reverb, Delay, Parametric EQ, Compressor, Chorus, Phazer and Envelope Filter, you can utilize Pitch Fix for tuning correction or distortion, Choir to create a 3-part harmonizing effect, Morph for “radical gender bending” vocals, and Double for an echo-like sound. These can be switched and modified on-the-fly with realtime output plus preset for the ultimate easy access.
The standard single track recorder is a simple way to capture and share your tweaked and strengthened voice. However, if you want to create a fuller or collaborated audio masterpiece, upgrade to the multi-track capability, add a drag-and-drop looper, and even further enlarge the virtual studio with the comprehensive Mic Room, most of which are recent incorporations of v3.
Mic Room’s array of virtual microphones allows nearly anyone to easily add a pure and genuinely captivating effect to their voice. In fact, the preliminary set of eight includes several smooth sounding condenser and ribbon-type models together with classics such as the Shure Model 55-based vintage dynamic and old telephone mic. This collection can be expanded to a total of 20 modern and timeless choices via the in-app store’s individual and bundled purchase options. Perhaps best of all, everything is packaged in a simplistically stylish virtual booth that also features an input level indicator, gain control knob, and effect on or off button.
For export and import convenience, VocaLive supports Apple’s inter-app audio, iTunes File Sharing, Audiobus, and more. Not to mention, once imported, a high quality voice cancellation can be used to help create a karaoke-style experience.
As a final perk, IK Multimedia also built-in a metronome, vocal warm-up exercises, and demos.
