Add Contacts With Ease Using Quikly

June 15, 2017

When you're adding someone's phone number to your iPhone, it's never a comfortable experience. You have so many options to choose from, and quite a bit of typing to do. Quite often, someone will start telling me their number before I've even told Contacts what type of phone it is, and I have to ask them to wait. With this app, I can go straight to typing the name and number in no time flat, allowing me to get rid of the awkwardness that is trying to use iOS's Contacts app to add someone to my phone book.

Adding someone to your phone book shouldn't be awkward and cumbersome, but it is. With this app, it's as easy as one-two-three.

Quickly add a contact with quikly

Normally, adding someone to your Contacts requires tapping at least eight times. You have to put in their first name, last name, and then tap to add a phone number. Then, you'll usually want to change the type of number, since it defaults to a Home number. Finally, you type in the number and tap save. By the time you're done, it's taken you at least eight taps to add that person to your phone book.

With quikly, the process is condensed down to four taps. You enter their first name, last name, phone number, and then tap Save. Quikly automatically sets that number as mobile, and saves instantly into your native Contacts app.

Add a contact, then call or text them

Quikly is lightning-fast to use, and so simple you might wonder if it really worked. It's definitely streamlined my efforts to get people into my phone book. What's really nice is that once you've saved the contact, you can text or call them straight from quikly. The dialog pops up, you tap Call or Text, and quikly allows you to make that phone call or send that text message. I've used the app at least half a dozen times by now, and it's never let me down. This is definitely one of the neatest, most useful apps I've found for my iPhone, even if I only use it a handful of times a month.

Here's my usual workflow, now that I have quikly on my iPhone. When I meet someone and get their phone number or business card, I use quikly to get their name and telephone number into my Contacts list. Later, when I'm at my computer, I can go back into that contact and add in the additional information from their business card. It dramatically speeds up the meeting, allowing me to spend less time tapping and more time chatting.

When you're adding someone to your phone book, you want it to be easy. With quikly, it's not only easy, but lightning fast.
