Alexa Integration is Coming to the Main Amazon App
Amazon has just announced that Alexa integration is coming to the e-commerce giant’s main app. The virtual assistant, and Siri competitor, will start rolling out to iOS users today and should be complete within the next week.
Music, orders, skills and more
Users can ask a question, play music, and activate one of more than 10,000 different skills using the app.
While a number of third-party options have brought the popular virtual assistant to iOS devices, this is the first time that Amazon has integrated the feature in one of its apps.
The multifaceted Alexa is the main feature on Amazon’s Echo line of connected speakers. Along with controlling music, asking about the status of package order, and more, users can also ask Alexa to control smart home devices. Another major plus of Alexa is the fast growing number of skills that now number more than 10,000 and can allow users to do everything from ordering a pizza or Starbucks to hearing a joke of the day.
Just tap the microphone icon on the top right activates Alexa.
The Amazon app is designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and all iPad models. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.
