Apple Releases its First Game Since 2008, Warren Buffet’s Paper Wizard

May 6, 2019

It might come as a bit of a surprise, but in the more than 10 years of the App Store, Apple hasn’t been an active developer of games. Texas Hold ‘Em was released in 2008 to mark the premiere of the App Store in 2008 and was removed in 2011.

But Apple has just released its second ever game: Warren Buffet’s Paper Wizard. While the developer is listed as “Wildlife Designs Inc,” the copyright is Apple’s.

The game was released on Saturday, the same day as Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway shareholder’s meeting in Omaha, Nebraska. The billionaire is a major investor in Apple.

According to media reports, Apple CEO Tim Cook made a cameo appearance at the meeting in a video with Buffet. The pair were trying to come up with ideas for an app and settled on the newspaper toss.

Buffet delivered newspapers as a child and previously did a live newspaper toss at shareholder meetings.

Anyone can now try to beat Buffet’s skills in the new game. You’ll be slinging newspapers while trying to make your way from Omaha to Cupertino, California.

While trying to toss the paper to the right home, you’ll have to avoid a host of different obstacles like birds, mailboxes, and much more. There are different obstacles in each stage.

Only for the iPhone, Warren Buffet's Paper Wizard can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.
