Apple Seeds iOS 11.4 Beta 1 to Registered Developers
Just days after officially releasing iOS 11.3 to the public, Apple has just seeded iOS 11.4 beta 1 to registered developers.
The only additions in the beta software aren’t exactly new. Along with Message in iCloud, AirPlay 2 support has been added. Both of those features were part of the iOS 11.3 beta testing period but were removed before the final release.
With Messages in iCloud, users can see all of the conversations synced between iOS devices and their Mac using iCloud. For example, when a message is deleted on an iPhone, it will automatically disappear on an iPad.
AirPlay 2 allows multi-room audio and the ability to stream music to multiple sources simultaneously. The Apple TV also appeared in the Home app. Stereo support for two HomePods is also included but doesn’t work until because it also requires HomePod software that hasn’t been released.
It’s unknown whether those features will be part of the official iOS 11.4 release. More than likely, Apple is just testing both before releasing iOS 12 to developers in June.
