The Apple TV App Arrives in the UK, France and Germany
The Apple TV app arrives in three new countries as of today, Dec. 8.
One year after being introduced in the United States, the Apple TV app is now launching in the heart of Europe. The television discovery app is showing up for Apple TV and iOS users in the United Kingdom, France, and Germany.
Launched in the U.S. in December 2016, the Apple TV app works on fourth- and fifth-generation Apple TVs. The app made its first appearance in Australia and Canada in September. Those in Sweden and Norway should also see the app arriving before the end of the year.
The Apple TV app offers a unified experience for discovering and accessing TV shows and movies from multiple apps on Apple TV, iPhone, and iPad. It provides one place to access TV shows and movies, as well as a place to discover new content to watch.
At launch, the Apple TV app in the U.K. will support local content from ITV, Channel 5, and the BBC iPlayer, among others.
