Apple Unveils iOS 16 With New Lock Screen and Much More

Apple has officially unveiled iOS 16 at today’s WWDC keynote.

One of the biggest changes is a brand new and much more customizable lock screen.

You can now add widgets and customize different parts of the screen like the photo, font, and more. It’s also possible to create more than one lock screen to switch between.

Developers will be able to add information from their apps to the lock screen.

Notifications will roll in from the bottom of the screen and you can choose to hide them.

Messages is adding the ability to edit a message or undo a message. All threads can also now be marked as unread.

To better use SharePlay, you can see all of the compatible app in FaceTime or download new ones. SharePlay support is also coming to Messages.

Dictation is getting even better that allows you to combine your voice and typing.

The Live Text feature is also coming to videos. Just pause a video to select text.

A number of new features are coming to both Wallet and Maps.

Another big addition is iCloud Shared Photo Library to easily share photos between family members.

The Home app is also sporting a new design.
