Apple Unveils iPhone 15 Lineup, Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch Ultra 2

As expected, Apple introduced a wide variety of new products at today’s special media event. Here’s a rundown of everything that Apple announced.

With the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro Max, Apple has switched to a titanium casing for a lighter overall weight. Another new feature on the exterior of the both models is a Action button that replaces the previous mute switch.

You can choose from a wide variety of option for the button including starting a Focus mode, starting Voice Memos, and more.

Apple has also shifted from a Lightning connector to USB-C connector on the new handsets.

Both phones use the A17 Pro chip, the first 3-nanometer chip in a smartphone. The CPU is up to 10 percent faster with the Neural Engine is up to twice as fast. The GPU uses a new 6-core design and is up to 20 percent faster.

And it shouldn’t come as a surprise, but there are also a number of camera improvements. The headlining feature is a new 5x telephoto camera lens on the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The main camera allows you to switch between three focal lengths—24mm, 28mm, and 35mm. You can also select a default option.

There’s now no need to switch to Portrait mode. Both models can detect when a person, dog, or cat is in the frame. When you tap to focus, it automatically captures depth info

The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will be available to order on Friday with shipment arriving next week on Friday, September 22.

Both models will be available in black titanium, white titanium, natural titanium, and blue titanium.

You can purchase the 6.1-inch iPhone 15 Pro starting at $999 for a 128GB model. The iPhone 15 Pro Max, with a 6.7-inch screen, starts at $1199 for a 256GB version.

Apple also unveiled the 6.1-inch iPhone 15 and 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Plus.

Both handsets feature a USB-C connector and also sport the same Dynamic Island that originally arrived with the iPhone 14 Pro lineup. The screen brightness can go up to 2,000 nits, twice as bright as the previous generation.

When it’s time to start shooting photos, the handsets offer a 48MP main camera. Just like the iPhone 15 Pro lineup, you don’t need to switch to Portrait mode to capture depth information.

The satellite communication feature has also been improved. On all the new iPhone models, you can now also call for roadside assistance using a satellite signal.

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will be available in a black, blue, green, yellow, and pink color options. You can pre-order starting Friday with shipments landing on Friday, September 23.

You can purchase the iPhone 15 starting at $799 while the larger handset starts at $899.

The Apple Watch Series 9 may look identical to the Series 8, but there a number of under-the-hood improvements to make the experience even better.

A big addition to the Apple Watch is the S9 chip. That will make watchOS 10 and the entire system run faster. It also opens up a number of other improvements while keeping the same 18-hour battery life.

With the Double Tap Gesture, arriving with a software update next month, you can the index finger and your thumb twice to perform a number of common Apple Watch tasks like answer a phone call and much more.

The maximum brightness for the display is now 2,000 nits of brightness, twice that of the Series 8.

Other improvements include the ability to process Siri requests on the watch instead. The Virtual assistant can also be used to log health data.

You can order the watch starting today with shipments arriving on Friday, September 22. The Series 9 starts at $399. A new pink aluminum options is available with four other options. There is also three stainless steel colors available.

The Apple Watch Ultra 2 now also sports the same S9 chip with all of the same features as the Series 9.

It now also sports a new exclusive Modular Ultra watch face and a screen with brightness of up to 3,000 nits. The first-generation Ultra had a 2,000-nit screen.

You can order the Ultra 2 starting today for $799. Shipments will also arrive on Friday, September 22.
