Apple Unveils Updates to Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro for iPad
Along with the new iPad models announced during today’s special event, Apple also announced big updates coming to Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro for iPad.
Final Cut Pro 2 for iPad turns the tablet into a Multicam production studio with the new Live Multicam feature. That allows users to connect and preview up to four cameras at once.
To support that new feature, Apple will also unveil Final Cut Camera for iPhone and iPad. That will enable live monitoring and individual control of each feed. It will be a free download.
Other new features include 12 additional color-grading presets, eight basic text titles, and 20 new soundtracks. The update will also support the new Apple Pencil Pro on the latest iPad models.
One of the top new features of Logic Pro 2 is Session Players. That will provide a personal, AI-driven backing band that responds directly to feedback.
Logic Pro 2 and Final Cut Pro 2 will be available later this spring and free for existing users. Both apps require a $4.99 monthly or $49.99 yearly subscription. There are also separate apps available on the Mac that will also receive the same updates.
