Apple's Vision Pro Will Officially Land on Feb. 2
After being introduced last June at WWDC 2023, Apple’s Vision Pro will officially arrive next month on Friday, Feb. 2.
Pre-orders for the $3,499 device will open two weeks before at 5 a.m. PT on Friday, Jan. 19. Optical inserts will cost $99 for readers and $149 for a prescription.
Apple terms the headset spatial computing. Running visionOS, the device will feature an App Store with compatible iOS and iPadOS apps along with titles made just for the device.
Instead of controllers, you’ll interact with simple hand gestures like a finger pitch. Siri support will also allow you to interact with the device and things like open an app or play media.
The Vision Pro is made for both work and play. Your apps can appear side-by-side at any scale to multitask. You can even use a Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad. Just looking at a Mac will bring the computer to the display.
Each eye offers more than 4K TV resolution, and you can watch movies and TV shows from popular providers. There will also be 150 3D video titles at launch. Games, including Apple Arcade titles, will be available to play on the device.
Vision Pro can capture Spatial Video and photos that provides a unique look at the memory. Spatial Video can also be captured by the iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max.
With FaceTime, the device will create a spatial representation and show your facial expressions and hand movements in real time.
