Bus Simulator City Ride Is Out Now on iOS and Android
First announced back in June, this latest instalment of the hugely popular Bus Simulator franchise sees you trundling around the fictional city of Havensburg.
You’ll spend your time ferrying passengers to and fro in a range of ten licensed buses, all reproduced in painstaking detail, right down to the cockpit interiors.
Those buses come courtesy of manufacturers like Alexander Dennis, Blue Bird, BYD, IVECO BUS, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Scania, Setra, MAN, and Vicinity Motor Corp. In other words, all the big names.
They come in all different shapes and sizes, too, from articulated to electric to double decker.
The big twist this time around is that Bus Simulator City Ride is the first game in the series to be available on mobile platforms.
You can play it on both iOS and Android, as well as Nintendo Switch, suggesting a casual detour.
Let’s take a closer look.
Havensburg is a sort of composite of a number of northern European cities, with landmarks to match.
It boasts a whole variety of locations and backdrops, including a nautical warehouse district, harbor, old town, and tracts of beautiful countryside.
Your goal is to connect these different parts of the city by creating a public transport network. You do this over the course of a huge story campaign, adding routes and districts as you go until you’re responsible for a hulking metropolis.
To achieve this goal you’ll need to drive like a pro and manage your fleet and your routes like a strategic mastermind.
But it’s not all about cold hard business and razor-sharp driving skills. You’ll also get to experience driving events and listen to your passengers, learning their life stories through voice-acted interactions.
When you’re finished with the campaign, or you just want to cut loose, you can cruise around in Bus Simulator City Ride’s sandbox mode on the Switch version, taking in the sights and sounds of your growing city.
Bus Simulator City Ride is available now on iOS and Android.
