C by GE LED Bulbs Will Gain Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa Support This Summer
Starting this summer, there will be another option for buyers looking to purchase HomeKit-enabled lightning. GE recently announced that its C by GE LED bulbs will add support for both Apple’s protocol and Amazon Alexa with the C-Reach hub.
Bedroom and home
Both the C-Life and C-Sleep bulbs are dimmable and are designed to last up to 20 years with normal use.
Currently, the C-Life and C-Sleep bulbs communicate via Bluetooth technology. Users can interact with the system via an iOS app. But the new hub will open up even more compatibility with smart home systems.
The C-Life bulb is only one color and designed for anywhere in a home. C-Sleep is made for the bedroom and automatically transitions from calm light at night and a more vibrant white in the morning.
Both lights can last for up to 20 years with normal usage.
And according to The Verge, the hub will retail for less than $50 and will be discounted when purchased with other bulbs.
If you’re interested in the lighting system, a starter pack with two C-Life and C-Sleep bulbs can be purchased now for $64.80.
