The COVID-19 pandemic has changed many facets of life, including how we work. And the great third-party calendar app Fantastical has just been updated to help users navigating working from home.
Automatic Conference Call Detection
Developer Flexibits changed the app’s development roadmap to focus on providing features to help anyone working from home to stay more productive.
The app can now automatically detect conference call links from Zoom, Webex, Microsoft Teams, GoToMeeting, RingCentral Meetings, Skype for Business, BlueJeans, and Lync.
When you have a meeting with one of those providers, you’ll see a Join Meeting button at the top of the meeting details. Just press that button, and it will take you to the meeting.
Any event with a conference call will show a badge in the list, day, and week views.
One of the best features of the app, time calendar sets, is also getting even better. You can select to switch calendars, from example from Work to Home, at a specific time of day. Previously, the feature was based on location.
A Unified App
Today’s update is the biggest since Fantastical 3 was rolled out in January.
The biggest change with the update is that the app is now unified across all of its platforms – iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac. Fantastical can be downloaded for free on the App Store and Mac App Store.
The basic, free version of the app is erfect for light use.
But if you’re looking to unlock all of the features, you’ll need to subscribe to Fantastical Premium. There are two different options, a yearly option of $40 or a monthly charge of $4.99. There is a 14-day free trial.
The subscription will unlock the premium features on all of the platforms.
A free Flexibits account is required with a premium subscription. That will allows for the events, tasks, and more to sync across different devices.
