CARROT Weather Update Brings Redesigned Weather Maps and More

February 2, 2022

The great third-party weather app CARROT Weather is adding a host of new features with the recent update to version 5.5.

Individual Radar Station Data and More

Most notably, the weather maps have been completely redesigned. The new maps focus on readability and quick loading. You can select from six different styles and toggle between a 3D globe and 2D map.

You can now also view data from individual radar stations. Those stations update more frequently and provide more detail. For anyone new to viewing that type of radar data, there is a guide that explains how the radar stations work and how to interpret that data.

Also new are forecast maps layers that provide a look of up to 48 hours into the future. Available layers include precipitation, wind speed, and temperature.

An inspector tool will show the exact values of data on the map. For example, you can see exactly how strong a storm is.

CARROT Weather is destined for the iPhone and all iPad models. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.

Anyone who downloads the app will be able to find weather conditions on an iOS device or Apple Watch, change CARROT’s personality, and search for secret locations. Access to any other features will require a subscription.

There are three subscription levels that unlock a wide variety of additional features.
