Developers Will Soon be Able to Reply to App Store Reviews
When iOS 10.3 officially arrives, developers will be able to reply to App Store reviews. Apple says the option will be available in both the Mac and iOS App Store.
A big improvement
Currently, to author a review, users need to completely leave the app. When iOS 10.3 officially arrives, that will no longer be the case.
Apple mentioned the new feature with the release of iOS 10.3 beta 1 earlier today:
When iOS 10.3 ships to customers, you will be able to respond to customer reviews on the App Store in a way that is available for all customers to see. (This feature will also be available on the Mac App Store.)
Developers have long asked for the ability to reply directly to App Store reviews. Currently, there is now way for developers to respond if a user is having an issue with an app or if they left a negative review.
While we don’t know how exactly the feature will work, it’s good to see Apple finally add such a highly requested feature from app developers.
With iOS 10.3, Apple is also making it easier for users to leave reviews. Currently, users are forced to leave the app completely to offer a review. When the new iOS version is officially released, you can author a review from inside the app. That’s another change developers and app users should be happy to see.
