Doppler, the Perfect Player for Anyone Who Buys Music, Adds Album Collections and More

March 30, 2023

While many of us subscribe to music streaming services, there is still a dedicated number of fans who prefer to buy their tunes and store music locally.

And if that’s you, make sure to check out Doppler. The app is an offline music player for tunes stored on your iPhone.

The well-designed player supports a wide variety of audio formats include MP3, FLAC, AAC, WAV. You can import music from Safari, Dropbox, and other sources.

You can easily listen to music through your AirPods, HomePod, or any other Bluetooth speaker.

The app has recently been update to version 3.0 adding a trio of new features.

With Album Collections, you can create lists and better organize your library. For example, you can make lists for your favorite albums or each or to organize albums by mood or season. Four presets are included: Recently Added, Compilations, Released This Year, and Released Last Year.

There are also new ways to customize your music library. On the Library screen choose Edit to show the three options. You can pin a collection to the top of the screen, rearrange different options for library browsing, and set a main list to either Albums, Artists, or Songs.

Finally, the app has added Shuffle by Album, a favorite option from iTunes. There are two different queue grouping options. No grouping sees songs added individually along with the alternative Group by Album/Playlist.

Doppler is for the iPhone and can be downloaded now on the App Store for free. You can try out all of the app and it’s features during a seven-day free trial. After that, you will need to complete a one-tine, in-app purchase of $8.99.

Anyone who bought the previous version, Doppler 2, after Dec. 1, 2022 can upgraded to the new version of free.

Other Doppler 2 bytes can continue to use the existing app and features for free forever They will also continue to get bug fix updated whether or not they upgrade.

There is also an additional Doppler for Mac app available to download from developer Brushed Type’s site. You can download a free trial or buy the app for $30. That version will add the queue grouping and collections features “over the next few weeks.”
