The team at Singapore-based Inzen Studio has come up with a fresh look at a venerable genre, the tap/click game. Star Tap uses the same game mechanics, but instead of seeing how many cookies or candies you can collect, you use your tapping power to explore the universe.
You’ll begin your travels fairly close to home, visiting the Moon as well as other planets within Earth’s solar system. The game utilizes a physics engine to determine how long it would normally take you to reach your destination, but with a few twists – Stella and her spaceship can use special powers to fold space, slipstream through it, and otherwise accelerate the journey.
Star Tap Your Way Across the Universe
The Moon, Mercury, and Venus are just the beginning of Stella's journey to explore the universe.
Along the way, you’ll pick up resources that you use to upgrade various parts of Stella’s shuttle and her abilities. You’ll also help Stella create drones to collect those resources, upgrading them when necessary. During your journey, you’ll learn interesting facts about planets, galaxies, and the universe.
As you tap to accelerate through space, you’ll find that upgrading your shuttle abilities allow Stella to travel even further. Eventually, you’ll help Stella explore not only planets within our solar system, but other constellations and galaxies, too. Orion, Canis Major, Taurus, along with many other celestial regions are close within your reach as you expand Stella’s shuttle and her abilities.
During the game, you’ll also activate a mysterious power that redetermines Stella’s fate, imbuing her space shuttle with new and more powerful advancements.
