The FINsix Dart Lets You Charge Your Laptop and iOS Device
Are you tired of carrying around your heavy laptop charging brick as well as a smaller block to charge your iOS or another USB device? Enter the new FINsix Dart. At about a quarter the size of a typical laptop charging brick, and a powerful 65W and with a 2.1A auxiliary USB port, it does double duty. The Dart charges your laptop and your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch at the same time. FINsix is a spinout company from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology LEES Laboratory.

What I Liked
There’s no more carrying around that bulky laptop brick plus a second smaller brick for my iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. This tiny wonder does it all. I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks, and it works flawlessly.
Finsix Dart can charge both a laptop and iPhone
At just 3.0 cubic inches and the weight is 85 grams (0.13 pounds), the Dart easily slips into a bag or purse. It charges my laptop and my iOS device just as quickly as the bricks that came with them. Though my review unit is the gunmetal color, I like that there are a variety of fun colors from which to choose.
The Dart meets FCC Part 15 Class B EMI requirements for North America plus all international EMI requirements for a laptop charger. It has over-voltage protection, short circuit protection, over-temperature protection, and its output is currently limited to ensure the safety of its users. The Dart can be used anywhere in the world, though you may need a plug adapter to use it in other countries.
The Dart utilizes interchangeable tips to plug into your computer. It comes with nine tips, one of which should be compatible just about any PC laptop you might own. Just to be sure, you should check for compatibility before you buy.
What I Didn't Like
There is one huge caveat that I’d imagine will affect many of our readers. While I was sent a preview MacBook tip for review, that tip will not be made available to the public immediately. If you own a MacBook, you can sign up to receive notification when the MacBook tips are available.
Bottom Line
The FINsix Dart is a fantastic charging solution. With one small charging brick, you can charge your laptop and iOS or any other USB device simultaneously. Charging is fast and efficient. The multiple tips included ensure that the Dart will work with both your current laptop computers and future ones. Unfortunately, at this time the MacBook tip is not yet available to the public.
