The FUGOO GO Bluetooth Speaker: Two Are Better Than One

Accessories
April 26, 2017

Today’s Bluetooth speakers offer better sound and battery life than those produced even 12 months ago. Better still, these accessories are also increasingly less expensive. The FUGOO GO hit the market a few months ago. Priced at just $79.99, the speaker offers plenty of features that make it worth considering.

Design and Hardware

Like similar products on the market such as the recently introduced Ultimate Ears Wonderboom and JBL Flip 4, the FUGOO GO is intended for both indoor and outdoor use. As such it’s waterproof with a rating of IP67, meaning it can withstand being in up to 3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes. It’s also mud, snow, and shock proof, for good measure.

Available in black with black, blue, or red trim, the FUGOO GO measures 47.5mm by 225mm by 84mm and weighs just 453 grams (around 1 pound).

The FUGOO GO offers 10 hours of battery life between charges. A voice prompt tells you when it’s time to charge, which you can do with the included micro USB cable.

Inside, the FUGOO GO includes four custom-designed acoustic drivers; two are full-range drivers, while the other two are bass radiators.

The FUGOO GO has five inputs. On the side, you’ll find the power and Bluetooth buttons. On the front are three rubberized buttons. You’ll use these to control the volume and pair two FUGOO GO speakers (see below).

A useful feature is the built-in bungee cord that allows you to mount the speaker, as these promotional images show:

Sound

Sound

Overall, I was impressed with the sound the FUGOO GO provides especially at its price point. Overall, the sounds are relatively balanced, both on the highs and mids. The bass is adequate, but nothing special, which is something to keep in mind, depending on your preference.

The FUGOO GO is intended for both indoor and outdoor use. As such it's waterproof with a rating of IP67, meaning it can withstand being in up to 3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes.

The Fugoo Go has been designed in such a way that you’ll experience 360-degree sound when it’s placed flat on its back. When on its side, the speaker offers a more direct sound experience.

I received two Fugoo Go devices for review purposes and I’m certainly glad that I did. When pairing two speakers, you can either double the music or listen in stereo. If you plan on using your Fugoo Go inside your home, you should definitely consider buying two since it adds to the experience.

The Bottom Line

The Bottom Line

If you’re looking for a durable Bluetooth speaker that you can bang around and use by the pool, the FUGOO GO is a great choice. Relatively inexpensive, the FUGOO GO offers balanced sound that’s even more special when paired.

You can purchase a FUGOO GO through the Fugoo website or by visiting Amazon.com.
