Designed for newcomers, the app will help you gradually work up toward a 5K run in nine weeks.
All of the running sessions are transferred to the Apple Health app and count to fill the Activity rings. You can see full details of all the runs on an iPhone.
While running, there is a countdown timers with sound and haptics to show how long is left in each run. It also will signal the halfway point.
You can also view distance, calories, average speed, and heart rate on the watch screen. The app also works nicely with a third-party music player or podcast app on your watch. It will lower the volume so you can hear instructions and progress.
As a nice touch, you can also repeat runs to help go at your own pace.
To help keep you motivated, there are a number of awards trophies you can win.
The app is $2.99 and can be purchased on the App Store on iPhone or Apple Watch.
While there are a number of couch to 5K apps, being able to train with just your Apple Watch makes this option a great choice if you like to run without an iPhone.
