Google Photos Sharing Just Got Easier With New iMessages App

December 1, 2017

Google Photos sharing on iOS devices just got easier thanks to the latest app update. You can now share Google Photos using iMessages.

The official Google Photos iMessage extension arrives in the Google Photos 3.10.0 update for iPhone and iPad. This update also adds support for the iOS 11 Drag and Drop feature for iPad.

To enable the Google Photos iMessage extension, be sure to install the app. Next, start a conversation in the Apple Messages app. Tap the App Store button at the bottom left of the screen. You’ll find the icon for Google Photos in the iMessage App Drawer.

From here, you’ll see your photos and videos from Google Photos starting with the newest. Click on the ones you wish to send.

The Google Photos extension shares your media in the native iMessage attachment format so your recipients can view them without having the app installed on their device.

You can download the free Google Photos app from the App Store.
