Here's the breakdown of parties supporting Apple and those siding with the FBI

The Apple-FBI case is a controversial one, with folks voicing their support for Cupertino online and in the press. But now, “friends of the court” listed in the case have weighed-in on the issue, sending their own arguments to the U.S. magistrate responsible for the original order against Apple.

The move comes after U.S. magistrate Sheri Pym solicited “friends of the court” to offer their take on the case, and as Fortune notes, the feedback she received seems to have been overwhelming.

There have been letters from the victims’ families, from professors, civil liberties groups, encryption experts, and privacy advocates. And the results are interesting. However, in terms of sheer figures, it seems that more groups are siding with Apple. Via Fortune, here’s the list of those supporting Cupertino in the case:

There are less listed groups against Apple, however, yet this list potentially carries more clout. As Fortune explains, it “includes briefs filed by four of victims’ families and a half-dozen state and national law enforcement groups.”
