The Apple Pencil is getting even more useful with iPadOS 14. With the Scribble feature, you can write in any text field and it will automatically be converted into typed text.

So for example, instead of having to enter a site address into Safari, just write it in the address field.

The feature works with English, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, and mixed Chinese and English.

Handwriting in Notes can also be selected and cut and paste into another app as typed text.

You can even tap on a specific handwritten note, like a phone number, and the iPad will make a call.

The software also gains a number of new features in iOS 14 like redesigned widgets, pinned conversations in Message, and more.
