iPhone 7 Benchmarks Prove Apple Is The Leader in Mobile Chipsets
On Wednesday, John Gruber from DaringFireball posted some Geekbench Benchmarks for the new iPhone 7 and compared them to other Android devices on the market. The results are insane.

According to Gruber’s post, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are nearly twice as fast in single-core performance when compared to pretty much any Android phone, including the all but popular Samsung smartphones.

Something to keep in mind, these Android phones have quad-core processors and way more RAM than the iPhone 7. The Note 7, for example, has 4GB of RAM and the One Plus 3 has a whopping 6GB of RAM. The iPhone 7, on the other hand, has 2GB of RAM and the iPhone 7 Plus is pushing 3GB of RAM.
All this makes Apple’s A10 Fusion chip faster than any MacBook Air ever made. Think about that for a second. All that power inside something that fits in your pocket. Wow.
How developers will take advantage of that power has yet to be determined, but anyone who upgrades, especially from an iPhone 6 or earlier, is going to experience a massive increase in performance.
One thing is clear: Apple is undoubtedly the leader when it comes to building mobile chipsets. Not only can they design and produce chipsets that are now challenging speeds otherwise seen on laptop computers, but they can do it at a scale like never before.
I can’t wait to see how the iPhone 7 compares to the exploding Samsung Note 7. It’s going to be hilarious.
