After a two year stint as Apple’s Chief Design Officer, Jony Ive is retaking direct management of Apple’s software and hardware design teams. That’s according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
In 2015, Ive was promoted to the title of Chief Design Officer for the company and focused the majority of his efforts on the design of Apple Park and redesigning Apple Stores.
In his place, Richard Howarth was named vice president of industrial design to focus on hardware. Alan Dye was tapped as vice president of user interface design.
