Learn More About the Life of a Plant Using AR in Plantale
As Apple continues to improve ARKit, developers have found new and interesting ways to use the technology. One of the most unique is with educational apps.
Apple named Froggipeadia the iPad app of the year for 2018. As you could probably guess, the app is about the life cycle of a frog. And a new app, Plantale takes a similar approach to the plant kingdom.
The app will take learners on the entire lifespan of a plant. You can explore the internal anatomy of a root, stem, leaf, and flower. The app also show the functions of plant parts external and internally.
You can even experience the blooming a flower from the bud.
One of the most unique features of the app is the ability to grow your own plant, no green thumb needed. Users will select their favorite spot in a home and place the plant. Come back occasionally to nurture and help the plant grow. Then you can see the growth in AR.
Designed for the iPhone and iPad, Plantale can be downloaded now on the App Store for $0.99.
