If you’re looking to track something about daily life, Instant can probably do it. The multi-faceted lifelogging app, which can be used to monitor interesting data points like phone usage, has just been updated to version 5.0 with a number of new features.

Version 5.0 offers a new visual look to the great dashboard.

The first, and most important task of the app, is tracking different data points. Along with the usual suspects like steps and sleep, it can also be used to track the amount of time spent on your phone and how many times it has been unlocked.

It will also track how much time you run, walk, and travel and the actual amount of time spent at certain locations.

And beyond simple tracking, the app can be used to better improve your life by setting specific goals.

One of the nicest features is the Instant Coach that will show users specific trends and allow queries about the data.

With the update, users should definitely notice a new visual dashboard with movable cards. That will allow users to customize how their data can be viewed.

It also bring the ability to set specific goals for sleep, phone usage, and steps. A new low-energy mode is also in beta.

Apple Watch wearers can also access the data on the small screen using the compatible app. There are no watch face complications yet, but hopefully that could be added in a future update.

There is also a premium subscription available for $1.99 per month or $8.99 for the lifetime of the app. Subscribers can take advantage of reports, sleep/step goals, and backup to iCloud or Google Drive.
