Lofree Poison Wireless Speaker: Retro Design, Modern Features

Accessories
August 3, 2017

Lofree really loves combining 1950s nostalgia and sounds. First, it launched a wireless Bluetooth mechanical keyboard with its signature clicking and clacking keys. Now, the company has announced the Lofree Poison wireless Bluetooth speaker, available now through an already successful Kickstarter campaign.

The Lofree Poison speaker could be right at home in the kitchens or bedrooms of June Cleaver or Lucy Ricardo. On the inside, however, you’ll find nothing but modern features.

At the heart of the speaker is a bass enhancement system that produces mids and trebles from the front, while a large diaphragm in the back pumps out deep, full-bodied bass. You’ll also find two hefty 10-watt amplifiers for more output than you would expect from an audio product that only measures 7.08 by 4.13 by 2.75 inches.

The Lofree Poison speaker provides six hours of Bluetooth-enabled music between charges. The beautiful device also includes FM radio and a line-in. It also comes with a leather strap for carrying.

I received a red Lofree Poison review unit nearly a month ago. During the daylight hours, I’ve been using the speaker almost continuously. It provides great sounds in a tiny, retro body, which is a win-win in my book.

The Lofree Poison speaker retails for $119. Through Kickstarter, you can pre-order one for under $70. It’s available in Turquoise Blue, Pure White, Venetian Red, or Olive Green.
