Enjoy Lunch With Tim Cook at Apple Park and Support Human Rights

Apple's CEO partners with Charitybuzz and Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights again this year

Each year, Apple CEO Tim Cook partners with Charitybuzz to auction a lunch date with the executive. Apple, Charitybuzz, and Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights make for an amazing team, as Cook has helped raise more than $2.185 million for the organization through past auctions. This year, it’s different. This year, the winning bidder will not only have lunch with Cook, but it will be at the tech giant’s brand new campus, Apple Park, in Cupertino, California.

A Once in a Lifetime Experience

A Once in a Lifetime Experience

This is the tenth annual auction with Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights and the tenth year of the iPhone, so it’s only fitting that the lunch would take place at Apple Park. Cook has been doing this since 2013, and a simple coffee date with the CEO went for $610,000 that year.

Bidding started for this year’s experience at $10,000 and is up to $65,000 at the time of writing. There’s still two weeks left in the auction, though, so I’d expect the amount to climb pretty rapidly. Lunch with Cook is valuable enough, but to have the experience hosted at Apple Park could easily be a once in several people’s lifetimes event.

What’s Included in the Auction

What’s Included in the Auction

If you win the auction for lunch with Cook, Apple will make every effort to schedule the experience at the earliest possible date convenient for both parties. Based on availability, though, the actual lunch date could happen a year in the future. The experience is valid for two people, plus Cook, and will last approximately one hour. The cost of the meal is included, but travel and accommodations are not. The winning bidder and guest will be subject to security screening.

Like Christmas in May

Like Christmas in May

It's like Christmas in May. We have a great line-up of exciting new lots to offer our bidders. The donors have been enormously generous and this auction goes a long way to continue our human rights work here at home and around the globe.”

If lunch with Tim Cook isn’t enough, Charitybuzz and Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights have plenty more to bid on. There’s two tickets to an SNL dress rehearsal with host Melissa McCarthy and an afternoon sail with Frank Gehry and Max Kennedy out of Marina del Rey up for auction. Other options include four tickets to meet James Corden at a taping of The Late Late Show, tickets to the 2017 Kennedy Center Honors, and more.

Bidding on all of these items closes Thursday, May 16, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. Get involved or learn more through Charitybuzz’s website for the auction. You can find out what Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights is all about through their web page. You can also go straight to Cook’s auction lot.
