Manage Your Battery-Powered HomeKit Devices With HomeBatteries

March 20, 2024

As the number of HomeKit-compatible smart home devices continues to grow, more and more of the accessories are powered by batteries. But when the battery power runs out, you usually won’t know unless you specifically look in the Home app or device’s companion app.

But with HomeBatteries, you can always be sure that your devices have enough battery power to keep working.

After opening the app, you can see each accessory’s battery level as a percentage with a glyph that is highlighted if the power is low. Select a specific accessory to see more details including charge status and trends.

With the battery trends, you can see the battery levels and when it was last replaced to get a batter idea on how long the battery will usually last.

One of the best features is the ability to receive a notification before an accessory runs out of battery life. That will allow you to change the battery before it stops working.

To see battery level without opening the app, you can use a Low Battery or Battery widget for your lock screen or home screen.

With the companion Apple Watch app, you can also see the battery life on the wearable device.

Using Siri Shortucts, you can use many features of the app with just a voice command to your device or even a HomePod.

HomeBatteries is a free download now on the App Store. It’s available on the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Vision Pro.

To unlock all of the app’s features, you’ll need a subscription. There are three options available—$0.99 monthly, $4.99 yearly, or $19.99 for the lifetime of the app.
