Mapper for Safari Redirects Google Maps Links to Apple Maps

October 21, 2021

The number of handy Safari extensions continue to grow on iOS and iPadOS 15.

Another new option is Mapper for Safari. It has a simple, but very nice feature for fans of Apple Maps.

When doing Google searches for a location or address, Google returns links that open, no surprise, in Google Maps.

But with the extension, those links will automatically open in Apple Maps. There’s no need to do anything or cut and paste addresses.

You can also choose to open an address in Waze. But that’s currently limited to only searching from your current location due to how Waze works.

Mapper for Safari can be downloaded now on the App Store for $0.99. It’s for the iPhone and all iPad models.

On your iPhone or iPad, head to Settings > Safari > Extensions. You’ll then scroll down to Allow These Extensions and then select Open in Apple Maps and Open in Waze.
