Apple Celebrates America's National Parks in July with Apple Watch Challenge, Donations
Apple will be celebrating America’s national parks in July in a number of ways including a special Apple Watch challenge.
One of the special iMessage stickers you'll receive if you complete the Apple Watch challenge.
On Saturday, July 15, anyone worldwide with an Apple Watch can complete a walk, run or wheelchair workout of 3.5 miles to earn a special award and exclusive iMessage stickers.
The distance was chosen because it matches the length of a hike from Old Faithful to Mallard Lake in Yellowstone National Park – the first national park in the United States.
From July 1 to July 15, Apple will also make a $1 donation to the National Park Service for every Apple Pay purchase made at an Apple Store, through the Apple Store app in the United States, or an apple.com.
Apple will also highlight a collection of apps to help navigate and explore the parks.
“America’s national parks are an inspiration to us at Apple, and we know they are as important to many of our customers as they are to us,” said Apple’s CEO Tim Cook. “Our goal is to leave the world better than we found it, so this July we’re making it easier for anyone to help preserve the beauty of our natural, cultural and historical treasures.”
