Nike+ Run Club App Update Arrives Ahead of New Apple Watch Release
A Nike+ Run Club app update has arrived ahead of this week’s release of the Nike+ version of the Apple Watch Series 3. The free update includes a number of new features, including Audio Guided Runs.
Nike+ Run Club 5.9 includes two significant new features. The first, Audio Guided Runs, feature workouts created by coaches, athletes, and celebrities. Each includes curated streaming music playlists.
Audio Guided Runs from distance runner Mo Farah and comedian Kevin Hart are available now.
The new update also includes a new social component called Cheers. With this feature, you can alert your friends whenever you go for a run. When you do, those friends can send out encouraging words to keep you motivated.
Both the Audio Guided Runs and Cheers features are available on iPhone and Apple Watch.
For Apple Watch users, these additional features have been added:
- Activity History. You can now see the details of your last 5 runs on your Apple Watch.
- Elevation data will now be available on standalone watch runs (Apple Watch Series 3 only)
You can download the Nike+ Run Club app on the App Store.
The Nike+ version of the Apple Watch Series 3 begins arriving in stores this Friday, Oct. 6. GPS only versions of the device start at $329. Add $70 for the GPS + Cellular versions.
