The Nike+ Run Club app, a comprehensive run tracker, has just been updated to version 5.3 with a number of nice features for the Apple Watch, including the Nike+ version of the wearable device.

Improved GPS and more

While the app can be used with all version of the watch, it is a major feature of the Apple Watch Nike+ that hit the market in late October.

Most importantly, the app is completely standalone on the watch. When a run is started on the watch, the iPhone version of the app won’t start. That should definitely help battery life.

Runners should also be glad to hear that the app now provides improved GPS and route syncing when a run is started on the watch. As another nice touch, split data can now be viewed in the post-run summary on the Apple Watch.
