NowGaming on Apple TV: Games for the whole family
Welcome to another installment of NowGaming on Apple TV, the column that tells you some of the best games for your fourth-generation set-top box. This week, we’re going to look at a few games that are fun for the whole family to enjoy. So, gather the kids and cousins, and check out these fantastic titles.
Put your music knowledge to the test
No singing required
When you’ve got a larger group who want to play at the same time, you need a party game. For a fresh twist on the idea, check out SongPop Party, a quiz game that will challenge your knowledge of music. Groove to the beat, but don’t waste too much time or your opponents will guess the song title and artist before you do. For multiplayer support, just make sure everyone has the free remote app on their iOS device. Then search for “SongPop Party” in the tvOS App Store. It’s a free download, with in-app purchases.

Crossy Road
Help your cute character dodge cars, trains, and the horrible eagle
One of my favorites is Crossy Road, which looks fantastic on the big-screen television. A well-made throwback to an arcade classic, the multiplayer mode will have everyone yelling out “I call next” at the same time. Just search for “Crossy Road” in the tvOS App Store. It’s a free download, with in-app purchases.

Pico Rally
A physics-based car racing game
Next up, we have Pico Rally. While you can play the game by yourself, it’s even more fun when you get the family involved. One player uses the Siri Remote, and the rest use their iOS devices to weave through the tracks and try bumping other racers off the road. Pico Rally is a free download on the App Store, but watch out for the in-app purchases. Just search for “Pico Rally” on the tvOS App Store, and let the fun do the rest.
Simple controls
Four-player multiplayer support
Sweet treats in a board game
It's a children's classic board game for the digital age
Lollipops and gum drops and more
One of the cutest children's board games is now on Apple TV
When you’ve got a whole family to play, especially with young ones, a good old board game is an instant hit. With SweetLand on your Apple TV, you don’t even have to worry about setting up or putting away the game. Just like the classic Candy Land, SweetLand sees you moving through a colorful, sweet world, trying to get to the end first. SweetLand is available for $1.99 on the tvOS App Store, with no in-app purchases. It’s also universal for iPhones and iPads, so search for it and enjoy.

Plenty of hidden object finding fun to be had
Finally, what could wrap up your evening of fun better than a good hidden object game? In Where’s My Geek, you can play alone or head-to-head with another gamer to find the hidden objects the fastest. Where’s My Geek is available for free on the iOS and tvOS App Store, with in-app purchases. Just use our link (it’s universal, so it’ll show up in your Purchased tab on the Apple TV), or search for “Where’s My Geek” on the tvOS App Store.
