PhotoLink: Keeping Your Photos and Important Data Just a Swipe and a Tap Away
If you want to have a photo as a widget, there hasn't really been a good way to do that. Web pages don't fit well into widgets, either. Until now, with an app called PhotoLink. Let's look at what PhotoLink can do for you.
With PhotoLink, you generate personalized widgets that provide you with all the information you need at your fingertips. Whether it's a photograph or a note, you can insert it into a widget for your Today View, and have it close at hand.
Just about anything can go into PhotoLink's widgets. If you have handwritten notes you need to keep checking, you can take a picture of them and stick them in a widget so they're always just a swipe and a tap away.
The app also allows you to create a widget of any website you want. It updates when the site updates, keeping you up to date with whatever's important to you.
This is definitely a great way to keep on top of the new content that AppAdvice releases daily. A clever caching system even lets you read your web pages offline.
Need to keep track of stocks and shares? That information is just a widget away. Want to make sure you are up-to-date on what's going on in the world? Photolink can help you with that, too.
To get started, you can add your photo straight from within PhotoLink. The beauty of the app, though, is the Share Sheet Extension. Just enable it, and you'll be able to quickly and easily create a widget from any image in your Photo Library.
You can do the same thing from Safari, adding your web page to a widget straight from the browser. It's a very handy way to put important information at your fingertips.
For anybody who wants information just a swipe and a tap away
PhotoLink fills a gap that's been present in the Today View almost since day one. The fact that you can put photographs and web pages in your Today View using this app is quite nice.
When you have your widgets created, you'll want to enable them. Just go to the Today View, and scroll to the bottom of your active widgets. Tap Edit, and find your PhotoLink widgets. Then tap the green plus sign next to the one you want to add.
Once you've done that, you can just check the Today View to review your notes or photographs, or check on the web page you've made a widget from. It takes about 48 hours for PhotoLink to notify you that a web page has changed, but an in-app purchase removes that limitation.
You're also able to group widgets in Photo Link. This is a terrific way to keep them organized, so when you want to update or change them it's easy to find the one you want to remove or modify.
PhotoLink is ad-supported and limits how many widgets you can have, at least for the free version. However, a modest in-app purchase will remove the ads and allow you to have more widgets available to you.
If you have notes or photos you want easy access to, PhotoLink is the way to go. You can create personalized widgets for those pictures and information, and a simple system allows you to resize and crop your images and web pages with ease.
