As described by its cofounding CEO, Ben Silbermann, Pinterest is less a social network than a “catalog of ideas” aimed at inspiring its users. But the thing is, this so-called catalog can be rather overwhelming to browse through, given that the popular photo-sharing service already hosts billions and billions of posts or ideas, as it were. Pinterest’s Explore section features “quick-play” videos from popular brands and publishers such as BuzzFeed, Brit+Co, GQ, Harper’s Bazaar, HGTV, National Geographic, Refinery29, and Tastemade. Once they’re in view as you scroll, videos play automatically, enabling you to instantly see an idea in action, like the trick to folding a shirt in mere seconds or the art of stuffing cheese inside onion rings.
