PlayAI Uses AI to Make the Perfect Apple Music or Spotify Playlist
You’ve probably seen the viral OpenAI GPT-3 chatbot. If you haven’t, it uses AI to answer questions and even carry on a conversation.
For example, you can ask questions like “What’s a creative idea for a 10-year-old’s birthday?” The chatbot will then answer in a conversational style with real ideas. It can even remember what you’ve said earlier in the conversation.
The free tool, available for anyone to try, is a unique way to see how technology is changing our everyday world.
And the app Playlist AI is using OpenAI GPT-3 to help you discover music. The app as created to make music and artist discovery easier.
Filling the gap between self-created and recommended playlists, the app offers a number of ways to create a playlist on Apple Music or Spotify.
First, you can use an AI prompt where you can turn any thought into a playlist. So you can enter text like “popular pop artists in the early 2000s,” or “chill coding music, electronic.” The chatbot will then return a playlist.
Next, you can also provide a picture of a music festival or anything with an artist name on it and the app will user computer vision to make a playlist of all the names in the image.
For TikTok fans, the app can find songs in videos and make a playlist.
Finally, with Rewind, you can make a playlist of your top artists and tracks. It’s similar to Spotify Wrapped, but with more control over both the timeframe and artists.
With just a few tries using the different options, tasking AI was really a fun way to see the different playlist possibilities. It definitely returned some unique music choices I hadn’t heard of before.
Designed for the iPhone and iPad, Playlist AI is a free download on the App Store now.
You can subscribe to PlaylistAI Pro to create unlimited playlists, unlock custom app icons and themes, and remove watermarks on cover images. That’s $2.99 per month or $19.99 yearly.
