REC is a New Video Recording App from the Makers of Camera 2+
Camera+ has always been one of the best third-party options to the stock Camera app on an iPhone. And the team behind that great app is branching out with a new video recording app REC, which is available starting today.
Just like Camera 2+, REC is designed for both casual users and more professional videographers to capture videos while featuring a host of power features.
One of the best features of the app is the automatic exposure mode. Called Cine Exposure, it takes into account information for the light metering system and the recording frame rate to select a sensible shutter speed for the best playback of moving subjects. The mode is turned on by default and is active along as the lighting conditions are sufficient.
Another great option is the ability to lock exposure and white balance when starting to shoot the video, even when using automatic or touch exposure.
You can easily select what resolution, FPS, and camera to use while shooting.
And audio is another important part of a video, With REC, you can view audio levels on screen to make sure there is no distortion,
The app supports many external microphones, and with many models you can even manually adjust the audio level from the app. You can also select which microphone on an iPhone to use.
In the video browser and player section, you can view all of the information about the footage and select which ones you’d like to save or send to a computer.
I’ve been using the app for a little more than a week to capture video and am definitely impressed. If you’re a fan of Camera 2+, you’ll definitely be right at home. And the interface is great to use whether you’re trying to take a video of your kids having for or something more professional.
