Relive Apollo 11 With Augmented Reality in JFK Moonshot

June 17, 2019

With the 50th anniversary of the historic Apollo 11 moon landing next month, a new app is using augmented reality to help relive the mission and much more.

JFK Moonshot

From the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation, JFK Moonshot explores President Kennedy’s original vision and how the United States was able to land a man on the moon in less than a decade.

One of the best features of the app is the ability to bring a recreation of the Saturn V rocket anywhere using AR.

And starting on July 16, you can experience a five-day, real-time tracking simulation of the mission and moon landing. That will use archival NASA footage.

There are also six games augmented reality games that will help you understand more about the moon mission.

JFK Moonshot is designed for the iPhone and all iPad models. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.
