A simple walk around the neighborhood is a free and easy way to exercise and a good step to creating a healthier lifestyle. But seeing the same sites and sounds day in and day out can sometimes get boring.

Remote Walk: Virtual Exercise

Remote Walk: Virtual Exercise wants to change that. When making a walk, no matter the location, the app tracks your movements on a virtual route to provide a new experience. Some of the different famous locations include New Orleans, London, Boston, New York, Hollywood and others.

To start, you’ll select a route. The options range in length from less than 2 miles to almost 5 miles.

While on the walk, you can see an exact position on the virtual route on a Google Maps view. There is even a Street View option so you can take a closer look around the world famous cities.

When passing a landmark on the virtual route, you can receive a notification on Apple Watch or iPhone. The app can even announce the location via an audio alert mixed in with any music you’re listening too.

A landmark page will allow you to view information on all the locations you’ve passed, even after a walk is complete.

Remote Walk: Virtual Exercise is designed for the iPhone. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.

Two routes in Chicago and San Francisco are included. To unlock all of the different routes, you can make a $2.99 in-app purchase. More routes are planned for the future.

The fun exercise app allows you to explore famous cities during a simple walk around the neighborhood.
