Slitherine Offers a Fire Sale On Games iOS 11 Will Make Unusable
The Slitherine fire sale on 32-bit iOS games is here.
Slitherine, the publisher behind some of the App Store’s most-loved strategy games, is offering a terrific sale on many of its titles. Unfortunately, if you’re planning to upgrade to iOS 11, the games on sale have a limited shelf life.
Magnifico
For perhaps the last time, Slitherine has dropped the price on the following game titles on the App Store (see links below):
- Magnifico, $0.99 (normally $3.99)
- Slitherine’s Legion, $2.99 ($9.99)
- History Egypt, iPhone, iPad $0.99 ($1.99) / $1.99 ($4.99)
- Great Battles Medieval, $1.99 ($9.99)
- Battle Academy 2: Eastern Front, $4.99 ($19.99)
- Hell: Fight for Gilrand, $2.99 ($9.99)
- Battle Academy, $4.99 ($19.99)
- Pike and Shot, $4.99 ($19.99)
- Commander the Great War, $4.99 ($19.99)
- Qvadriga, $1.99 ($4.99)
As you can see, these games are usually relatively expensive and normally this type of sale would be unprecedented. Unfortunately, Slitherine has confirmed that none of these 32-bit titles will be updated before Apple releases iOS 11.
(Beginning with iOS 11, Apple will only allow 64-bit apps and games in the App Store, and 32-bit titles will no longer work.)
If you aren’t using the iOS 11 beta and have time to play some of Slitherine’s titles over the coming weeks, go for it. Just keep in mind that iOS 11 is likely to arrive in September. Tick-tock.
