Spotlight Suggestions Are Now Available in 7 More Regions Under iOS 9
Spotlight Suggestions in iOS 9, a feature we first saw added to Apple's iOS last year, is now available in seven brand new regions. The move of course means more iOS users from around the world can enjoy a localized version of Apple's iOS, and particularly, its on-board search tool, Spotlight.
The new countries, as 9to5mac explains, are as follows: Hong Kong, India, Luxembourg, Malaysia, the Philipines, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates can indeed now enjoy accessing smarter Spotlight Suggestions on their iPhone or iPad. In order to access this feature, you'll need to be running iOS 9.0 or later.
This means Spotlight Suggestions are available in a total of 26 countries, with the remaining locations including:
- Australia
- Austria
- Belgium
- Canada
- Denmark
- France
- Germany
- Ireland
- Italy
- Japan
- Mexico
- Netherlands
- New Zealand
- Norway
- Spain
- Sweden
- Switzerland
- UK
- USA
I have to admit, Spotlight isn't something I use much on my iPhone, though since switching to using the iPad Pro as my primary computer, I'm pleased it's available there. More often than not, I go to Spotlight when trying to pin-point an app I've installed but can't find. Though I'd use the feature more if the Spotlight search bar was wiped clean after every search.
We'll likely see further enhancements to Spotlight in iOS 10, and this is something Apple will be previewing in June, at its WWDC conference. As always, we'll keep you posted with further information as we receive it.
