Big moves on music front
This week, Apple Music celebrated its first birthday. By its second, the music streaming service could look much different.
We already know a refresh is coming this fall with iOS 10 and macOS. Now comes word that Apple is having informal talks to purchase Jay-Z’s struggling Tidal service.
Apple Music has 15 million subscribers, compared to Tidal’s 4 million. Spotify, the industry leader, has 30 million paying subscribers.

Lots of gray
The latest on the “iPhone 7”
This week, the rumor mill continued to suggest that the “iPhone 7” won’t have a headphone jack. We also received word that Apple won’t release a dark blue model after all. The company is said to be working on a very dark space gray model instead.
The next iPhone could arrive in just over two months.

The iOS 10 beta nears a record

This week, Cupertino was expected to unveil the second beta for iOS 10. Instead, developers continue to wait. Twenty days have passed since the first iOS 10 beta arrived. This version is now the third longest beta in iOS history. Apple released iOS 8.2 beta 2 after 22 days; the first Phone OS 2.2 beta survived for 29 days.
