The Apple Watch Arrives at Kohls Later This Month
On Thursday, Kohls announced that it will begin selling Apple Watch at 400 of its 1,100 U.S. retail locations. The move comes just weeks after Macy’s announced a similar deal with Apple, according to Fortune.
Besting Macy's
In a move to increase its activewear and wellness business, Kohls will begin selling Apple Watch on Tuesday, Nov. 15 in the hopes to “attract more well-heeled customers during the Christmas period and beyond.”
Competitor Macy’s is selling the watch within Apple boutiques at 180 of its stores. At Kohls, the products will be in the activewear and wellness sections.
Michelle Gass, Kohl’s chief merchandising and customer officer explains:
We’re not launching it as an electronics partner. We were positioning this as an active and wellness device.
At launch, Kohls will stock 10 different kinds of Apple Watch. Each will be shown on 4-foot-tall display fixtures that feature four different watch models.
Kohls will sell both Apple Watch Series 1 and Series 2, along with a variety of bands and accessories.
