The Classic Board Game Battleship: Official Edition Lands on the App Store
"You sank my battleship!" Anyone who ever spent time playing the popular game Battleship knows that cry. And now the game has made its way to the App Store in Battleship: Official Edition.
The app does a great job bringing that naval strategy formula to an iPhone or iPad.
There are a few different modes of play. As you could probably tell by the name, Classic Mode is similar to the board game as you take on a single opponent and try to sink their ships before they can do the same thing to you.
You’ll also want to try out Commanders Mode, a new way to play the game. A more tactical variation of the game, there are three new core abilities that shake up the strategy during each turn.
Each commander also has special skills. New ship shapes also help change the strategy and the fun.
Along with the single-player modes, you can also take on players from all over the world in a multiplayer mode.
Battleship: Official Edition is designed for the iPhone and all iPad models. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for $0.99. There are in-app purchases available.
