The UE Boom 2 and UE Megaboom Apps Get Voice Integration
If you are someone who owns either the UE Boom 2 or UE Megaboom speaker then you will love an update that was released today, June 21. No longer will you have to search for a song. With Siri integration, as well as Google Now for Android users, you can say the name of a tune and it will play.
How to get the update
First, make sure that your speaker is turned on and connected to the app on your device. Select More and you should see “Update Now” in red under your speaker type. Tap to update and then hit Install for the process to begin. It takes only a few minutes for the update to occur.
How to access Siri
When you are ready to start grooving, just tap the Bluetooth button on your speaker quickly. Siri will then open on your device and you can instruct her to play a specific song. So, once you get on that raft in the pool or place your speaker at a distance, just tell Siri what you want to hear.
From Charlotte Johs, general manager of Ultimate Ears:
No matter how wet, muddy or wild the situation, with Siri and Google Now voice integration on UE BOOM 2 and UE MEGABOOM, fans no longer need to pick up their phone to play DJ. Now, they can just say it to play it.
If you are a current UE Boom 2 or UE Megaboom speaker owner, make sure you check your app for this awesome update. And, if you are still pondering the decision to purchase one of these speakers, take a look at our recent review of the UE Boom 2 for more details.
