Time's Up! Helps Make Any Countdown Much More Fun For Kids
Most parents have probably tried to use a timer for kids whether it’s a countdown to an event or setting a time for a specific activity.
And the new app Time’s Up! is a visual timer that parents, and kids, will actually enjoy using.
The app has five unique styles to select from. Reveal uses a photo from your Photo Library as the timer ticks down. Pixelate make a photo clearer as you get nearer to the end.
Puzzle will break a photo into a jigsaw puzzle and then slowly put the pieces back together as the time progresses.
You can also select from more traditional clock faces.
All of the timers can be customized with a specific alert sound and color.
All of the timers use iCloud sync and can appear on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV.
On and iPhone or iPad, you can easily use Guided Access so kids can’t switch apps or change timers without your code.
I’ve been using the app this summer while in beta testing, and it has been a huge help for my 10-year-old son with autism. We’ve previously used a simple iPhone timer to help him practice waiting, but the different options in Time’s Up! have been a big hit.
He really enjoys getting to select a photo to use, and when using Guided Access, you can hand an iPhone or iPad over without having to worry about the timer being turned off. Being available on the Mac and Apple TV is a big plus as well.
Time’s Up is free download on the App Store. It’s available on the iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Mac.
An in-app purchase of $2.99 unlocks the ability to run an unlimited number of timers.
