The days of the truly unlimited data plan with no hidden catches seems to be over with most cellular carriers these days, so tracking your data usage is more important than ever before. And that is where DataMan Next shines.

DataMan Next is an app that helps users keep track of their monthly data plans, as well as how much data they’ve used so far in the billing cycle. It’s easy to input your billing cycle dates and the amount of data you’re allotted each month, and then you just monitor your usage through the app or even from the widget view or Apple Watch.

We’re big fans of DataMan Next here at AppAdvice, as it is what most of us use to keep track of our cellular data regularly. And the developers have just released a nice new update to go with iOS 10’s brand new features.

New Widgets

New Widgets

Checking on your own data usage throughout the month has never been easier, thanks to the new widget view in iOS 10. DataMan Next has updated two useful widgets, the Data and Stopwatch, so that they appear in the gorgeous new widget style that is found in iOS 10. It’s fast to access and makes sure that you’re on top of your usage before the billing cycle is up.

Additionally, you can use 3D Touch on the home screen icon to just get a simple glance of your data usage forecast.

Support for watchOS 3

For those of you who have an Apple Watch, DataMan Next now fully supports watchOS 3. The companion Watch app features a new, extra large complication so you can track data usage with one glance, and there is support for the new Dock.

I’ve been an avid user of DataMan Next for the past few years, because even though I’m on a T-Mobile “Unlimited” Simple Choice plan, there’s a data cap before I get throttled down to slower speeds. With DataMan Next, I’ve been able to keep an eye on my ever-growing usage and manage it enough so that I don’t hit the throttling point. I’m glad to see that it gets continuously updated with the latest and greatest features.

If you need to manage your data usage better, then we recommend DataMan Next for the job. You can get DataMan Next on the App Store for just $0.99.
